Joel Apex Solutions was built on a simple belief: software should solve real problems and create genuine joy.
Founded and operated by Gerard Joel, Joel Apex Solutions is an independent Android software studio registered in South Africa. From a background in financial services project management, Gerard taught himself Android development and turned that discipline into a growing catalogue of mobile apps and games — each one designed with the same attention to detail he brings to professional project delivery.
The studio's work spans two categories: practical utility apps like Home Buyers Guide SA — a product that empowers South Africans to make one of the most important financial decisions of their lives with confidence — and entertaining games like Truth or Dare Couples, 30 Seconds, and Lotto Genius that bring people together.
In 2025, Joel Apex Solutions was selected as a recipient of the Google Digital Growth Initiative (DGI), recognising the quality and potential of the studio's products in the South African market.
